BIO
Long before Lisa ever put brush to canvas, she had been enthralled with paintings from a young age. Often viewing pieces she came across from perspective distance to get an overall feel of the story before inspecting close up to admire detail and brush work. Being an oil painter for over 40 years, she has continued to develop her style and technique, most recently under the tutelage of some of the artists she admires such Frank Serrano, Susan Blackwood, Howard Friedland, Dan Young, Greg Schieibel, Jake Gaedtke, and Dave Santillanes.
In 2015, Lisa took her first Plein Air workshop, and although those first paint outs proved quite challenging, she was hooked. Since then she has been an avid Plein Air painter and has been determined to conquer the challenges of painting on location. Primarily a landscape painter, she does however enjoy including the human element in her pieces. Her deep connection to nature she feels speaks to viewers in her work, personifying familiarity and exuding peacefulness.
